Many people on the internet think it's fair game to use any image that they find on the web.  Lots of people share the images they find through their Facebook accounts or use them on their blogs.  Roni Loren has recently found out about the perils of this approach.  As you can see from her story, she was recently sued by a photographer who found that see was 'sharing' his work.

Everything on the web is owned by someone.  All the text, images and audio will be subject to copyright and you will need the copyright holders permission to use it even if it does not explicitly state this on the website concerned, and if you do not get permission then you might receive a big bill that you weren't expecting.
